Carl Lee Dunn Sr.
COLUMBUS, GA - Carl Lee Dunn Sr., 77, of Columbus, Ga. died Sunday, January 10, 2010 in Columbus, Ga.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Ala. with Roger Woodard officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Ga.
Mr. Dunn was born April 4, 1932 and raised in Ozark, Ala., son of the late Levi Dunn and Lois Dunn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Dunn and his sister Clyde Welch.
He first met Betty in kindergarten and was married for 57 years and she was the love of his life. Mr. Dunn joined the National Guard at the age of 17. He served in Korea in 1951-1952 in the tank division. Afterwards both he and his beloved wife moved to Columbus and began their career in the textile business. He was employed with Swift Textiles for 45 faithful years.
Mr. Dunn is survived by his two children, Carl Lee Dunn Jr. of Smith Station, Ala., and Brenda Gayle Redmon of Columbus, Ga.; a sister, Grace (J.O.) Woodland of Weedowee, Ala.; a brother, Joe (Mildred) Dunn of Columbus,; four grandchildren, James C. (Mickie) Redmon of Cusseta, Ga., Michael (Latoya) Dunn of Salem, Ala., Carl Levi (Kerri) Dunn of Fortson, Ga., Nicole (Larry) Foster of Columbus, Ga.; seven great grandchildren, numerous sister and brother-in-laws.
