GEORGIA - Verlie Mae Ezell Deloney, a resident of Peachtree City, Georgia (formerly of Ozark) died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Southland  Nursing Facility following an extended illness. She was 92 years of age.
 Funeral services were  held at
10 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Bill Hart officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memory Gardens
under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home.

 Mrs. Deloney was born on
May 17, 1917 in Ozark, Alabama
the daughter of the late Beader and Luiza Paramore Ezell. Mrs. Deloney worked as a teacher’s aide and a secretary at the Dale County Courthouse for several years, but her main love was being a homemaker and taking care of her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who exemplified and fostered the highest Christian principles and values. Mrs. Deloney was a dedicated prayer warrior and loved her church. With an ever-ready smile and easy laugh, she was the model of virtues and her worth is beyond measure. She had a heart full of compassion and genuine love for others. Her legacy is one of unselfish love.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil O. Deloney, and two brothers,  Lloyd and Kenneth Ezell.
Survivors include two daughters:, Frances Deloney of Dothan,  and Rheba Leonard and husband, Jim, of Peachtree City, Ga.; one  son, Ron Deloney, and wife, Terry, of Johnson City, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Captain John Deloney, USAF, and wife, Dr. Heather Deloney, USAF, of Eagle River, Ark., Jason Deloney of Brentwood, Tenn., 2ND Lt Colleen Leonard, USAF, of Altus, Okla., and Michael  Leonard, Duke University, N.C.; one brother, Kermitt Ezell, of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Ellie Vee Grimes of Ariton,  and Martha Fralish of Ozark.
