Ozark-Dale County Public Library's Reference Section

     The Ozark-Dale County Public Library has a helpful reference section, which consists of many resources such as literary journals and analyses, sources of scholarly criticism, and much more. These resources are available to aid you in your researching needs. Whether you need to write a research paper on the symbolism found in Harper Lee's, To Kill a Mockingbird, or you just need to perform simple research, our reference section most likely has just what you are looking for!

Volunteers Needed

 

 

 

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help out at the Library. Jobs may include assisting with Story Time or Popcorn & a Movie , light cleaning, stamping envelopes, shelving books and much more! If you are interested, please come by or call us at 774-5480 for more information.

Live Online Homework Assistance from Real Tutors!

     The Ozark-Dale County Public Library, in conjunction with the Alabama Public Library Service, is currently offering free, live online homework assistance from real tutors. This service will be available daily, from 3:00pm until midnight.

     This service is available for all residents of Alabama, grades four through College Intro. You may sign on to this service and receive live answers to questions you may have pertaining to math, science, English, and/or social studies.

     The website is www.tutor.com/apls. When you arrive to this website, you will need to specify what grade you are in, the subject area you need assistance with, and your zip code. Please note, before you can connect directly with an online tutor, you must have previously downloaded the program. This process only takes a few moments and can be done so by going to http://www.tutor.com/install/default_ver1.asp .

     If you would like assistance with utilizing or getting started with this service, please do not hesitate to ask a Librarian for help. If you do not have a personal computer at home, we have computer and internet access for the public.

Learning Express Library.com

Test Preparation Services

      The Ozark-Dale County Public Library currently offers to its patrons access to an online test preparation service. The Learning Express Library is a resource available to patrons who wish to prepare for examinations such as the ACT, SAT, GRE, GED, Postal Exam, and many more. This resource provides students with practice tests that they can take online. After taking these practice tests, they will be scored and you will also be given explanations for any questions missed.

     What do I need to do to receive this service? The only thing you need to do to be eligible for this service is come in to the Library and ask to be registered; it is completely free of charge, and we can even help you get started. This is just another valuable service offered by the Library.

      The Alabama Virtual Library is an online resource available for students researching various fields of study. This online Library has many resources to assist students in their research process.

       To gain access to the Alabama Virtual Library, just come by the Library and ask to be registered for this service. It is absolutely free of charge and will only take a few minutes.
